Wedding cakes in Scotland- some frequently asked questions about wedding cakes.

Q. When should I order my wedding cake?
A. We limit our work to reach the highest quality- many clients book their wedding cake about ONE YEAR before the wedding, to make sure that they can have a Jenny's Cake. We can often accommodate short-notice requests, especially If your wedding is in the winter.
Q. Do I need to have all Fruit Cake ?
A. No. Many clients THINK that they do not like fruit cake, until they taste our Rich Fruit Cake! Made to our own secret recipe, our fruit cake is made around TWO MONTHS before your wedding, matured in fine french brandy to produce a smooth and mellow flavour. You can, of course, have sponge cake, chocolate cake, lemon cake, or a mixture of three types if you prefer.
Q. Can I have other cake, such as chocolate cake ?
A. Yes. The vast majority of our cakes include a mixture of tiers. Often a three-tier cake will have Rich fruit Cake, sponge and chocolate sponge cake.
Q. Can I have a one-tier or two-tier cake ?
A. Yes. We often provide cakes for smaller weddings, and have a number of designs specifically as two-tier and single tier wedding cakes.
Q. Can I design my own cake ?
A. Yes. As each cake is designed specifically for you, this means that your ideas CAN be incorporated, with our guidance and advice.
Q. Do you deliver the cake to my hotel ?
A. Yes. we prefer to deliver and set up the wedding cake at the venue for your reception. We also have a wide choice of metal and perspex stands and bases. These are provided for a small additional charge, and a refundable deposit may also be required.
Q. What size of cake do I need ?
As a guide, a standard three tier cake should provide around 160-170 portions. We can also provide cutting sponge to suit larger weddings.
Q. When should I pay for my cake ?
A. A small deposit (cash or cheque) is payable on booking, and the balance is due ONE MONTH prior to the wedding.
